CONTAINMENT is the debut feature of London-based director Neil Mcenery West, and stars local child actor Gabriel Senior in one of the supporting roles. Other stars include
Lee Ross (RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES), Louise Brealey (SHERLOCK), Sheila Reid (BENIDORM, BRAZIL), Andrew Leung (LILTING), and rising theatre stars PIPPA NIXON and ANDREW POSTLETHWAITE.
The film tells the story of an artist who wakes one morning to discover that the doors and windows of his apartment have been sealed shut. When a neighbour smashes through their adjoining wall, the artist and his new ally join forces with others in the block to defend themselves from the sinister figures outside. But they soon discover that the greatest danger lurks within – a virus of unknown origin, and of which any one of them could be a carrier.
15-year-old Gabriel Senior plays Nicu, the introverted but curious younger brother of an antagonistic youth. The role follows on from Gabriel’s big screen debut in DESERT DANCER, which will be released later this year.
Gabriel is a pupil at Leighton Park Secondary and began performing at the Henley Youth Festival. He and his family are excited to see his film at their local cinema. Gabriel’s mother, Kathryn Turner said “As a musician myself, it has been great to see Gabriel find his own creative outlet and for his talent to be recognised at this level”
The Henley Fringe & Film Festival was established in 2003 and has become a registered performing art charity. Over the last 7 years thousands of people have flocked to Henley to enjoy the theatrical entertainment, and in 2014, film was added to the programme of events with enormous industry success.
CONTAINMENT will screen at 20.30 on Saturday 5th September at the Picturehouse Cinema in Henley ahead of its national release in mid-September.
