The Henley Fringe and Film welcomes you to watch the Officially Selected Films at The Regal PictureHouse Cinema, Henley on Thames.

Below are the student films including two shorts by local students.

57 Degrees North57 Degress North : London Film School

57 Degrees North is a poignant insight into the traditional island lifestyle of John Jo MacDonald; a 67 year old fisherman who has worked the sea his whole life off the remote island of South Uist in The Outer Hebrides. We witness how John Jo’s way of life is under threat from environmental issues outside of his control. Full of character and Celtic charm, 57 Degrees North gives a large voice to a humble fisherman who’s opinions are based on experience and not just fishing quotas.

AstaAsta : 1929. The nobleman Henrik L.checks in at the Grand Hotel with his family. However the reason for their visit is rather unpleasant , their son is seriously ill and needs treatment. Troubled by this and stock exchange crash the couple faces hard times. Frustrated and lonesome Henrik make the acquaintance at the bar of the flamboyant fatal woman, As ta Nielsen the famous silent movie star.Henrik quickly falls for her intoxicating flirtations and commit adultery. But who killed A. Nielsen ?

However, the main character will clash against reality, where the intricacy of things and situations will lead his actions to unexpected consequences.

Keep Fighting : A short film for meningitis now about a boys life continues after contracting meningitis.

Richard Parson is puzzled – how his life ended up the it did. On his 40th birthday he receives a bizarre gift. A wind up robot which, unfolds the true story of his Father and he gives him the choice of a new beginning beyond imagination.
